Resolving the ET Question

Thousands of crystal white stars pierced the stark darkness of the night sky above the Owens Valley, but jammed together so densely that you couldn’t stick a needle in the dark without hitting white. Sprawled out on our sleeping bags laid on three furniture moving pads, Dad and I talked of much, and I asked, “Ever see anything strange up here at night?”
Dad paused, then told a story he’d only told to his wife. In the late 1950s, he and his cousin saw unusual lights one night, moving in ways that no known aircraft could. Quick acceleration. 90 degree turns on a dime. Then, they disappeared. Edwards Air Force base to the south and the infamous Area 51 base to the east both lay within flying distance. Dad chose to not tell anyone else, out of fear he’d be certified as crazy.
Alien life intrigues us, and recently, both Trump and Obama have brought up that topic. UFOs. UAPs. Aliens. ETs. We wonder if we’re alone on a small planet in a huge universe,
Frankly, I have the answer, and proof. Living sentient beings exist that did not originate on earth. They interact and impact our daily lives. How do we know? The Bible tells us so.
“In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. Now the earth was formless and empty…” (Genesis 1:1-2). God existed before the creation of humanity, which didn’t arrive until the sixth creative period, “Let us make man in our image” (verse 26). So, do beings exist who weren’t born on earth? Absolutely. God, the Son, the Spirit, and the multitude of angels
An image cannot contain all the original does. Two dimensions rather than multi. As a result, we have differing innate natures, expressed in Jesus before his incarnation and after, “Christ Jesus: Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be grasped, but made himself nothing, taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness” (Philippians 2:5-7).
That difference is huge, “’For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,’ declares the LORD. ‘As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts’” (Isaiah 55:8-9).
When we expect God to be like his creation, we get backwards in our faith. We evaluate the spiritual life from our limited human perspective. Although we are created in God’s image, the vast difference in our natures should drive our understanding of Him.
My secret to living in a spiritual world came from Keith Miller, author of the classic “A Taste of New Wine,” that two truths exist, that if we live them, we’ll do well. God is real. You’re not him.”
Kick Starting the Application
How “alien” do you feel about God? Do you see him, in practice, as transcendent and far greater than we? How can you better get the ‘alienness” of God?
